At pdftoolz (“we”, “our”, “us”), we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have.

1. Information we collect

Files you upload

Files you upload for processing are stored temporarily on our servers solely to perform the requested operation. All uploaded and processed files are permanently and automatically deleted within 2 hours of upload. We do not read, analyse, copy, or retain the contents of your files beyond what is necessary to complete processing.

Account information

If you create a free or Pro account, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password. We use this information to manage your account, track your usage quota, and send transactional emails (e.g. password reset).

Usage data

We collect anonymised usage data (pages visited, tools used, browser type, country-level location) to understand how pdftoolz is used and improve the service. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your session. We may use anonymised analytics cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

2. How we use your information

• To process your files and deliver the result to you.
• To manage your account and enforce usage quotas.
• To send you transactional emails (password reset, billing receipts).
• To improve and debug our service using aggregated, anonymised analytics.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data retention

• Uploaded and processed files: Deleted automatically within 2 hours of upload. No exceptions.
• Account data: Retained for the lifetime of your account. You may delete your account at any time.
• Anonymised analytics: Retained for up to 24 months in aggregated form.

4. Data security

All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS (256-bit SSL/TLS). Files are stored in isolated environments and are not accessible between users. We implement industry-standard security practices to protect your data from unauthorised access, alteration, or destruction.

5. Third-party services

We may use trusted third-party services for payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, and infrastructure hosting. These providers are contractually bound to handle your data securely and only for the purpose of providing their service. We do not share your files with any third party.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Object to or restrict certain types of processing.
• Data portability — receive your account data in a portable format.
